Recently, the Windsor Jr/Sr High School Student Council hosted a charity drive to help support One Stop Community Christmas.  Wrapping supplies such as gift wrap, gift bags, gift boxes, tape, ribbons, and tissue paper were collected.  In total, 530 items were collected to be donated to the program.  One Stop Community Christmas is a program which helps families in seven different counties, including Shelby, Moutrie, Coles, Douglas, Edgar, Clark, and Cumberland County, by supplying them with much needed food, toys, clothing, and other essentials during the holiday season.  One Stop Community Christmas will be held this year on Lake Land College’s campus on December 13th.

There will be a Mobile Food Pantry on December 20, 2014 for all members of the Shelby County community.  Central Illinois Food Pantry out of Springfield, Illinois will be delivering 12,000 pounds of fresh and packaged foods.  A similar food pantry was offered over the summer and food items such as fresh watermelons, cantaloupes, bread, granola bars, milk, and many others were given out to Shelby Country residents.  This pantry is being hosted by various Shelby County organizations and individuals, and is being held in the Windsor Elementary School from 10 am until all of the food has been distributed.  All Shelby County residents are encouraged to come and take advantage of the pantry.
